LATEST UPDATE – Water Main Breaks

Within 24 hours, we had two water main breaks simultaneously. The first as you’re aware, is the break that took place on Russell stage road. The water has been shut off and as reported earlier, a temporary bypass is being installed. Once installed, work will begin on the water break that is on Otis Stage Road. At that point, water use for the center of town will be shut off to isolate both of these water breaks. This will allow repair to begin on the Otis stage road water break. Additionally, it will allow the water treatment plant to recover and refill our Clear Wells since it has reached extremely low levels due to massive amount of water loss. We anticipate to have water use restored hopefully by noon on Sunday, April 11.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Any questions, contact the Water Department at 413-848-4279, extension 304 or email [email protected].
