The Ground Zero Flag, an American flag that was flown over the ruins of the World Trade Center’s north and south towers in New York City after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, will be exhibited at Blandford Town Hall on Wednesday, August 10. A ceremony will be conducted at 7:00 PM.

The flag is set for retirement on November 2, the anniversary of when it was removed from Ground Zero. Prior to retirement, the flag is being displayed at select communities, including a number in western Massachusetts.

Blandford Fire Chief David Mottor, members of the Ground Zero Flag Team, and others will be on hand for the ceremony recognizing the immense sacrifice made by our First Responders following the attacks, and by our service members in subsequent conflicts. The flag will arrive in Blandford under escort just prior to the ceremony.
