PUBLIC NOTICE – 2024 Deer Hunting Permits

The Blandford Conservation Commission will be available on September 23, 2024 between 6:00 and 7:00 PM at the Blandford Town Hall to receive deer hunting permit applications for Town–owned Conservation properties.

The Conservation properties include the Knittel Conservation Area on Herrick Road, Shepard Farm Conservation Area on Route 23 and the Long Pond Conservation Area on North Blandford Road. If more applications are received than the allotted number of permits for each area, the permits will be selected on a random basis. If additional permits are available after September 26, they will be issued on first come-first serve basis by contacting the Conservation Commission.

Applications will only be accepted from those that present a valid Massachusetts hunting or sporting license at the time of application and the license/customer number must be entered on the application. Each applicant must personally submit his or her own application. Successful Applicants will be issued a permit to hunt in only one of the above Conservation properties. Permits issued will only be valid for the 2024 Deer Hunting Seasons. Permit Applications will be available at the Town Hall on September 23, 2024 at the Conservation Commission Office at 6:00 PM. LTC/FID Licensing – COVID Process

Beginning January 11, 2022, the police department will no longer be taking LTC renewals in person, until further notice, due to the uptick in COVID cases. Parties intending to renew their LTC/FID must mail an application and check, made out to the Town of Blandford, to 15 Middlefield Rd, Chester, MA 01011. Applications can be found here.

Parties seeking to apply for a LTC/FID as a NEW applicant must contact the police department to make an appointment. Please call 413-354-7822 or call/text 413-207-2397 to make an appointment.

In an effort to protect the Chester-Blandford citizens, Monday night office hours will be suspended and will be by appointment only until further notice. The police department will do its best to accommodate your schedule. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Proposed Fee Changes for Electrical Permits

At our Select Board meeting on February 8, 2021, the electrical inspector presented a proposed fee change for electrical permits. The Select Board decided to post the proposed changes for two weeks to allow the opportunity for public comment and feedback. The Select Board plans to revisit the discussion for the March 1, 2021 Select Board meeting.
