Job Opening: Highway Superintendent

The Town of Blandford is currently seeking a Highway Superintendent. This working department head position is responsible for planning, directing, participating in and supervising the activities and operation of the Town of Blandford’s Highway Department. Blandford, (pop. approx. 1,215) one of the Gateway Hilltown communities and located in western Hampden County in the foothills of the Berkshires, has a $4.5 million budget. The full-time Highway Department and otherwise part-time staff are supported by contracted municipal financial services and many volunteers. Bisected by the Massachusetts Turnpike and home to Greater Springfield’s drinking water supply lands, this rural community boasts an abundance of scenic beauty and natural resources in close proximity to the city of Westfield, MA.

The position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the overall operations of Town government and managing the day-to-day affairs under the general direction of the three-member Select Board.
