The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) is welcoming applications for the newly established Hampden and Hampshire-Franklin Commissions on the Status of Women and Girls, and is currently in the process of identifying eligible and interested candidates to serve as commissioners.

The commissions, which are each comprised of nine members from throughout the respective regions, exist to provide a positive and effective voice for women and girls. They are charged with conducting an ongoing study of matters concerning women in the region, reporting their findings annually to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, and recommending solutions.

Commissioners are drawn from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, age, sexual orientation, and socio-economic backgrounds. More information and links to applications are available here.

The MCSW welcomes all interested and qualified applicants. To be considered for the Hampden and Hampshire-Franklin inaugural commissions, please submit your application by Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
